1959 Tweed Fender Champ Fuse Cap

Patented by Thomas Edison in 1890, a fuse, also know as a sacrificial overcurrent protection device, will protect your amp (or you) from catching fire if you pull too much current from the wall.  Too much current melts the fuse and breaks the circuit.  You can see from the photo below that  the amplifier takes a 2 amp fuse and has a solid looking barrel shaped cap.  I think it is made from the same black phenolic resin as the Chicken Head Knob (Daka-ware) but I’m unsure of the manufacturer.
